Whether freshly in love or with completed family planning, contraception can affect all women until after menopause. There are many options – hormonal and non-hormonal options that I can offer you:
- oral hormonal contraceptive („pill“)
- hormone patches
- hormonal contraceptive ring
- contraceptive injection
- hormone depo implant (Implanon NXTÆ)
- hormone spiral (for 3 or 5 years)
- copper spiral (for 5 years)
- consultation on sterilization (women or men)
A detailed conversation about your wishes and your needs, but also about possible risk factors enables me to discuss the useful methods with you.
Precautionary investigation
Precautionary investigations should be done at least once a year. Through the cancer screening examination it is possible to detect precursors of diseases at an early stage.
The statutory health insurance covers the costs for the following services:
- From the age of 20: early detection of cervical cancer – targeted survey of medical history (anamnesis), examination of the external and internal genital organs, cell smear of the cervix and cervix
- From the age of 30: additionally early detection of breast cancer – palpation of the breast and the adjacent lymph nodes, instruction for regular self-examination
- From the 50th to the 70th year of life: early detection of breast cancer – every two years mammography (X-ray examination of the breast). You will automatically be invited by the mammography screening office, which is responsible for you
- From the age of 50: early detection of colon cancer – consulation for the early detection of colon cancer, rectal palpation, test for blood in bowel movement
- From the age of 55 additionally: early detection of colon cancer – consulation for the early detection of colon cancer, colonoscopy (at most 2 times every 10 years) or test for blood in bowel movement
I can offer you further investigations. These are usually not covered by the statutory health insurance, but can be useful as an individual addition. This includes:
The ultrasound examination of the genitals allows the detection of structural changes in the uterus, the ovaries and the bladder, which can not be detected only by palpation.
The ultrasound examination of the breast is used to detect lesions (tumors, cysts, abscesses) that can not be detected only by palpation of the breast.
With the aid of an immunological test procedure, even the smallest amounts of human blood can be detected in the stool (from the age of 50, the benefit of the statutory health insurance).
The immunological urine test enables the early detection of bladder cancer before the onset of symptoms.

Desire for a child
If there is an existing or planned desire to have children, I will be happy to help you to answer your questions. Talk to me on your visit.
Please bring along your vaccination certificate, so that I can check your current vaccination status.
If you have an unfulfilled wish for a child, I can do the first necessary investigations to find the cause. For a consultation it makes sense to appear together with your partner and if necessary to bring along already existing findings of examinations, operations or treatments.
Pregnancy investigations
The pregnancy and the birth of a child are events that bring along great changes. This is a time full of joy, but also a time, where many questions arise. I accompany you before, during and after the pregnancy so that you feel well advised at every stage. The statutory preventive check-ups during pregnancy include:
- Phisical investigation
- Laboratory tests (blood group determination, antibody test, hemoglobin (Hb), lues addiction test, HIV test, if applicable rubella titers, chlamydia addiction test, HBs-Ag test (hepatitis B), urinalysis)
- Three basic ultrasound examinations in the 8th-12th, in the 18th-22nd and in the 28.-32. week of pregnancy
- Glucose stress test for the detection of gestational diabetes
- CTG-investigations derive the child’s heart rate and to control the ability of labour
In addition to the benefits of the statutory health insurance, I offer you further medically meaningful examinations during your pregnancy. These services are called individual health care (IGEL). The fee is based on the fee schedule for doctors (GOÄ).
- First Trimester Screening (Ultrasound nuchal Transparency Measurement and Laboratory Examination)
- Non-invasive prenatal diagnostic NIPD (blood test for genetic changes of the unborn child)
- Laboratory tests for infections (toxoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, varicella, marigold rubella)
- β-streptococcus (group B streptococcus, GBS screening)
Menopause
In the years, before and after the last menstruation, we talk about menopause. This condition can already occur from the age of 45.
The ovaries produce less sexual hormones and the ovulation gets rare. The fertility decreases and until this change is completed can also pass some years. The technical term for menopause is climacteric.
The hormonal changes can cause that your cycle to become irregular, the menstruation can get stronger and longer until it stops completely. Furthermore, the menopausal phase may be characterized by mood swings, sleep disturbances, hot flushes, sexual aversion, hair loss or weight gain.
I accompany you through this phase and advise you on the respective treatment options. In addition to hormone therapy, these include well-effective herbal medicines. Please contact me or my team.
Urogynecology
Especially after birth or/and with the onset of menopause, there may be changes in the female genitalia, which have unpleasant consequences:
- unintentional loss of urine during coughing, sneezing, lifting of loads, sports or involuntary in case of strong urge
- lowering of the uterus with complaints
- lowering of the vagina with bladder and/or with rectum
- Urinary or bowel dysfunction
- Complaints in your sex life
These are all unpleasant topics. But your gynecologist is the person to whom you should confide these problems. After a detailed discussion and an examination, I can discuss with you the meaningful treatment options.
These may include, for example, behavioral recommendations (e.g. pelvic floor training). Also, medical therapies or a pessary therapy are possible. If the initial findings are particularly severe or if the conservative therapies fail, an operative procedure may be advisable.
Cancer aftercare
After a treated malignant disease of the breast, uterus, ovaries / fallopian tubes, vagina or external genital, regular follow-up visits are useful.
These examinations serve to detect a recurrence of the disease at an early stage and to achieve a better treatment option.
In addition, problems arising from previous treatments (like surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, antibody therapy) can be identified and treated.
A partecipation at the DMP (Disease Management Program) breast cancer is offered in our practice.

Additional services IGEL
The ultrasound examination of the genitals allows the detection of structural changes in the uterus, the ovaries and the bladder, which can not be detected only by palpation.
The ultrasound examination of the breast is used to detect lesions (tumors, cysts, abscesses) that can not be detected only by palpation of the breast.
Thin-layer cytology is a fluid-based smear test and evaluation for the early detection of cervical carcinoma and thus a further development of the smear test.
With the aid of an immunological test procedure, even the smallest amounts of human blood can be detected in the stool (from the age of 50, the benefit of the statutory health insurance).
The immunological urine test enables the early detection of bladder cancer before the onset of symptoms.
Additional services during pregnancy IGEL
The first trimester screening is a combination of ultrasound-based nuchal translucency measurement and maternal blood testing for improved risk analysis for chromosomal disorders (12-14 weeks gestation).
The NIPD is an examination of the expectant mother’s blood for analysis of fetal chromosomal abnormalities (e.g. trisomy 21, trisomy 13, trisomy 18). With this test, the child’s sex can be determined.
If toxoplasmosis, cytomegalovirus, varicella or marigold rubella occur during pregnancy, they may endanger the unborn child. The blood test is used to analyze immunity or to detect an acute illness.
The smear test is used to detect certain bacteria that are transmitted to the child during a vaginal delivery and can lead to a neonatal infection.
